Silicone rubber keypads start from translucent silicone rubber. Colored silicone is manufactured by blending with pigments.
- Multiple Silicone Colors
- Premolded inserts for distinct color gradation
- Inserted colors when molded. (indistinct color gradations)
- The snap action of a silicone rubber key pad is determined by the durometer of the rubber used, the design of the web at the base of each key, or the additional a steel snap dome on the circuit layer
- Co-molding of the silicone with molded plastic or metallic parts (e.g., hard keycap)
- Clear coat of epoxy, polyurethane, or silicone to increase durability of painted or screen-printed surfaces
