What are stainless steel nameplates?

Stainless steel nameplates and labels have become popular in a variety of manufacturing applications thanks to their exceptional durability in even the harshest environments. Stainless steel nameplates are used by our clients to provide simple operating instructions that last as long as their equipment.

Our customers use our nameplates in a wide range of applications such as elevators, military ships, food processing equipment, train cars, oilfield equipment, and many industrial products.

Benefits of Our Stainless Steel Nameplates

1

Durability

Stainless steel is corrosion-resistant. It’s a nameplate material that can withstand dents, scratches, chemicals, extreme weather, and physical strain that would cause most metals to bend.

2

Welding

Adding a stainless steel nameplate to the desired surface is quite easy. Welding to the material is simple and straightforward since stainless steel is more conducive to welding than other materials.

3

Hygienic properties

The slick metal structure of stainless steel makes it difficult for bacteria to adhere. Cleaning these types of commercial nameplates is very easy.

4

Attractive look

Because of its stainless nature, the metal has a nice sheen that doesn’t need polishing. It will also be noticeable and convey all the important details about the appliances.

5

Long-term value

Stainless steel and other industrial nameplates offer outstanding value for money because they need less upkeep and repair.

Our manufacturing processes

Engraving

Stainless steel nameplates start off with an acid etching process that recesses copy and graphics (.003″) into a hard-stainless steel material. We then fill the recessed areas are with automotive-grade paint.

Printing

If required for a visual effect, we print images with durable inks in the non-recessed areas. Multiple PMS matched printed and etched colors are routine for Melrose.

Etching

The etching process can proceed from the front and backside of the plate. This process is called chemical milling; it cuts very fine holes and patterns in stainless steel, brass, copper, and other metals.
