Large Labels for Arcade Games

Melrose manufactures large labels for arcade games and point of purchase displays. These custom labels can be printed 4 color process or with pms matched spot colors. Melrose can screen print these labels to a maximum size of 46x84, litho print to 28x40 or digitally print to 60”x unlimited length. Melrose has steel rule die-cutting, and digital die-cutting and routing capability for large labels using laser, knife, and water jet technologies.

Fast Turnaround: Digital printing coupled with digital die-cutting capability allows us to turn around preproduction quantities of large labels in as little as 24 hours.

Arcade game set including: 1) Very large side label decals printed as pms colors on vinyl with metallic powder and clear coat, 2) Control panel 2nd surface printed on clear textured .010 vinyl, 3) backlit marquis 1st surface printed on .015 translucent styrene.

Large Cabinet side decals are typically printed 1st surface on pressure sensitive vinyl. Clear coats can be added for added visual “pop” and for wear resistance. Metallic powders can be added to PMS spot colors to enhance the attraction of these large labels. Clear coats are added to either 4 color process or spot colors to enhance the visual “pop” of the graphics, and to improve wear resistance.

Cabinet control panels are large labels that are applied close to where the customer uses the machine creating a wear effect on the label. Control panels are typically printed on the 2nd surface of clear textured polycarbonate or scuff resistant vinyl (.005 to .010” thick). 2nd surface printing allows the ink to be protected by the film itself. This is an important benefit for high wear control panel applications. Pressure sensitive adhesive is generally supplied on the backside of the label.

Control panels are also printed 2nd surface on .118 or .156” clear textured acrylic or polycarbonate if additional wear resistance is needed, or if the control panel serves a structural function in the cabinet.

Large Backlit Marquis Labels are used to attract attention to the arcade game in darkened arcade game galleries. Melrose generally prints these large labels on the first surface of translucent white styrene (typically .015”). This label is then sandwiched in the cabinet between two pieces of clear acrylic, allowing easy change when game software configuration changes. Melrose utilizes highly pigmented inks for backlit label applications to avoid the washed out appearance that comes with backlighting inks with standard pigmentation.
